Organizing the Handcraftday was done by the great people of the small Muhu.
The program on Friday was thorough and handcraftthrill was offered more than enough!

Only sharp needlesticks and happy sighs were heard from the Hellamaa villagecenter where the Muhu embroidery class was held by the best teachers there.
Lots of beautiful Muhu handcraft could be admired.
On the dockage of Kuivastu was another exhibition, the one of embroidered pictures.
Magnificent chance was to look how the Muhu masters goffered the skirt.
Who wanted, could also try knitting on the loom.
The woodcottage of Piiri showed us some wooden artworks.
A lovely chat could be held in the tinytiny Gatekeepers handcraftshop!
In the Museum of Muhu we painted the clothes pegs- the activity suitable for everyone and it's a definite thing that there are no matching pegs.
Some pegs are just prettier than othesrs :)
There really was things to see...
Had fun and felt good on Vanatoa.
Great effect came from the show Muhu Womanfashion through different times.

On the first Saturday on this Spring all the handcraftsouled people gathered in Mustjala.
To greet the Spring and to feel joy of handcraft and the company.
The nice ladies from the homecultural union Koit had decorated the schoolhouse hall with a gorgeous exhibition.
Folkband Sõleke performed the lullabys from our ancestors. It was so touching!
Maimu Pere told us the stories of the birth of Mustjala folkcostumes.
A story was told and shown about making the metal tie-downs for folkcoats.
The way they do it in Mustjala- entwining the garters.
And well then we danced- some of the old traditional dances like the cool Womandance and Rats Weddingdance! Oh what a joy, like a vitaminshot it was!
Back in the old times men in Mustjala had made their wives this kind of shoes that would give sparkles when touching the ground.
From this time on these shoes are called firelock-shoes. One of these shoes decorates the gonfalon that has now travelled to the handcraftpeople in Lümanda.
Exactly after a year, in the Spring of 2011 on the first Saturday we shall meet there, in Lümanda on a handcraftday!

The morning began as usually with some fresh snow and the people of Randvere from Sakadak
and from Work&Studycenter were all busy making interesting things
The handcraft from the ladies in Kuressaare Union of Pensioners took us sighing and thinking because it was such a difficult choice to make- almost everything sould be presented in the exhibition!
The stronghold...
in its mystique stays here to wait for friendly handcraftspirit, but until that time you may see...

In Kärla schoolbuilding works a man named Paul Tohv who is a very clever woodworkmaster with housewifefriendly ideas!

When March became the month of handcraft then the plans for putting up an exhibition of the handcraft of Saare county hd already been done.
The enthusiastic tern- Krista, Marika and Imbi started an expedition to gather beauty and special objects.
First stop- Tornimäe
Not that we would have brought exhibits from the Museum of Muhu but we did get this and that from there also:)
There were difficult thoughts in Hellamaa- the Muhu handcrafters are known for their talent!
On our way a small exhibition in Orissaare.
It kept snowing and the road got more slippery near Pärsama
It was fun pushing the car out from the snow in Valjala but the exhibition was even more fun :)

Kui akna taga vahelduvad kummalised lumeskulptuurid ja katuseääred on kaunistatud suurepäraste lumepitsidega,
siis Ilm On Imeline. Ja hing ei igatsegi enam niiväga kevade järele. No vähemasti täna mitte,
sest tänases talves on igaühel meist Oma Lill - ei vaja ta kastmist ega väetamist, toitub õhust
ja armastusest ja mõnikord tuulutamisest ;)
Mis kõige imelisem, see õis ei närbu kunagi!
Lumist kevadeootust, näeme jälle!

Et lähenemas on sõprade meelespidamisepäev, kogunes mõnus seltskond reede õhtul Talupoodi, kaarte meisterdama.
Seekordne õpituba oli nagu kolmekäiguline õhtusöök - supp, praad ja magustoit :)
Alustuseks valmisid kerged ja värvilised südamed.
Vaja on ainult värvilisest paberist ring lõigata, pooleks murda, voltida siit nurgast ja sealt nurgast.
Tulemust võib kasutada üksiti või mitmekesi koos, salmidega või ilma. Lihtne ja lõbus!
Edasi läks veidi keerulisemaks, eriti neil, kes pole üldse kokku puutunud lapitehnikaga. Nagu näiteks mina.
Hea, et Itil oli kaasas lõikur, nii sai olemasolev makulatuur kiirelt ja korralikult ribastatud.
Nüüd läks lahti äärmiselt loominguline voltimine, sättimine ja liimimine.
Siin need kaardid nüüd on - üks ilusam kui teine!
Hõrk "magustoit" sisaldas niidigraafikas ja pärlitega tikitud tibiliblikat või kapsaliblikat või
koiliblikat või .... hahaahhaaa!!
Hästi "maitsev" õhtu oli :)
Olgu kuidas on, üks sõbralik tervitus sõbrale või sõbralt kulub ikka ära ja
teeb meele rõõmsaks! Kõigil.
